Cross Flow Filter

We just received this ceramic element cross flow filtration system.  It is incredible!  It means no more stopping mid-filtration to change direct flow pass through filters.  The system includes a backflow inert gas option that the manufacturer swears we won’t ever need for wine clarification, but Del LOVEs options!  It also has an in-line chiller tube.  The line cooler is used because unlike a direct flow, the wine will pass by the warm pump many times.  In addition to mitigating that, it will allow us to maintain whatever wine temperate we choose.  While not an “absolute” value, its average poor size is .2 micron, and so, when used in combination with an absolute .2 micron filter, our wine will be completely clear and microbe free.
